Hello all, My name is Amy Robinson and I am creating this LFEBridge for an amazing family that’s very close to my heart. On August 5th, Alyssa Blackwell was in Tennessee with her Mom, Dad, sister, and brother visiting their great grandma. It appeared to be a normal day and April and Greg took the kids swimming. When they got back to their hotel, Alyssa was acting very whiny and tired. Her mom, April, said she thought it was due to being exhausted from swimming. However, when she looked at Alyssa’s face, she knew something was wrong. Alyssa was having multiple seizures and her right arm and leg were stiff. They called 911 and she was rushed to a local hospital. Once there, the doctors wanted to transfer her Children’s in Chattanooga, TN because they said she had temporary paralysis from having seizures called, “Todd’s Paralysis.” Once Alyssa was transferred to Children’s in Chattanooga, the doctors did a MRI and CT scan of her brain to see what was causing the seizures. Alyssa was still struggling to talk, and couldn’t use her arm or leg still. The doctors told April and Greg devastating news. Alyssa had a stroke due to an artery narrowing in her brain. They informed them she will need surgery, but want to get her back to Children’s in Atlanta so they will be closer to home. This is news no parent ever wants to hear. It is heartbreaking and terrifying. April and Greg have 3 kidsllop. Alyssa is the oldest at 6, then Ansley is 5, and JP will be 2 on August 13th. April is a dedicated stay at home mom to her 3 precious babies and Greg works full time to provide for his family. Seeing as Alyssa is going to need major brain surgery and Greg will have to miss work, this amazing family could use all the support they can get. I wanted to create this to help ease the financial worries so they can focus on getting Alyssa back to Georgia and healthy again. Anything you can donate will be very much appreciated by this amazing family. Alyssa is such an amazing little girl. She was born premature and fought to stay alive. She has autism, but doesn’t let it stop her from doing her best. We first met Alyssa and her family at the softball fields last year. She loves softball and her smile will light up any room and brighten anyone’s day. Please consider donating to this amazing family and help ease the financial stress for April and Greg during this unexpected journey they are about to embark on. Please lift Alyssa, her parents, her sister and brother, her family, and her care team up In prayer. It will mean more than anyone knows to this amazing family. Thank you and God Bless!
