On Monday, July 24, Anne and Elton Roberts got THE CALL they'd been waiting for. For the last few years, Elton has suffered from a degenerative lung disease (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis) which resulted in the need for a complete lung transplant. His quality of life has been dramatically affected by his condition; simple activities became extremely difficult and he could no longer hunt with his dogs, feed his horses, or attend social events with his daughters (Randi and Cec). Now the Roberts family has been given the ultimate gift of donor lungs but they need your help. Anne and Elton left Whitehall, Montana, and flew to the transplant center in Washington where they will stay for three months to ensure the surgery is successful and Elton's immunosuppressive drugs are working. However, getting the home ready for his return is vital as he is extremely susceptible to dust, viruses, bacteria, and mold. Your donations will be utilized to hire a professional house cleaner to sanitize the Roberts home top-to-bottom and provide Elton's new lungs the best possible chance at their second life. After the cleaning, the remaining funds will go towards the purchase of air purifiers for their home to maintain a safe environment and directly to the family to cover expenses during the three-month rehabilitation timeline. Thank you for helping Elton, Anne, Randi, and Cec get their lives back and honor the life of someone who gave Elton (and the Roberts family) a second chance.
