In January 2024 the Rivera-Gonzalezes, a family of three, decided to leave their home in Puerto Rico looking for better healthcare for their son, Ian. After several considerations and concerns, the family decided to move and live in Massachusetts, a state known for its great healthcare. Ian is an almost 3 years old child with a syndrome called TUBB3, a syndrome of multiple diagnosis that limits his physical faculties and cognitive development. Due to his condition, Ian needs multiple therapies on a weekly basis and daily treatments as his medication for seizures. From the first visit to the Boston Children’s Hospital and the help of programs like early intervention, Ian initiated a new life, full of services and resources. This big turn in the life of the Rivera-Gonzalezes has been the “best decision of our lives”. They felt lost, but now they found light, from healthcare experts, who had the right answers to their questions and showed the way to a better future for Ian. They are now trying to get back on track economically and put aside multiple needs like buying an adapted car, fixing their current car and getting help to pay debts. Please, help this family to reach a deserved new chapter in their commitment filled life.
