Peace and Blessings to all. My name is Thomas (Powerful) Admore. This is not only a go-fund-me plea but an appeal to those who might be experiencing the scars resulting from fighting a long and traumatizing battle with a city agency! As a man who has always provided for myself and many others, I find it most difficult at this time to have to resort to this method in order to secure a home for myself. I was very recently forced to leave the home I resided in due to my financial situation and the unfortunate death of the homeowner. These last few years (2019 – 2024) have been very hard for me as I faced the loss of my dear and beloved mother, the loss of my income from a job that I was dedicated to and now the loss of my home. These losses have taken an emotional toll on my quality of life, which has led me to finally reach out for help to those who know me. I am appealing to my friends and family to help me secure enough funds to find and modestly furnish a comfortable living situation. I am very aware that Covid affected many of us in different ways; however, although Covid is basically behind us, I find that I am still experiencing the wrath of that horrible disease. I have been battling the Department of Corrections continuously for the last 3 years when I was forced, along with many of their other employees, to work around, in and under unsafe conditions. As a result, I have not received wages due to me for the year 2024-2024 and faced termination at that time due to the vaccine mandate. Due to the continuous and ongoing disputes with the NYC DOC, I am exhausted by the emotional, financial and mental disruption that has been created fighting for what I know and believe is right. I feel that I must continue my Labor Rights stance on the bullying that's transcribed within these agencies, even if it places employees in unsafe conditions. I have carried out and exhausted all remedies of the grievance process as a member of DC37 Local 420. I applied for unemployment and was denied because Human Resources fabricated the truth regarding my termination stating that I walked away from my assignment. I appealed and eventually won; however, I have not received any payment until this day. I am still presently attempting to get assistance from ERAP as it is now 1 ½ years later. When I was in the financial position, I secured an attorney who will handle the process from this point and I am confident that with his experience and reputation, I will in the end win what I am entitled to, however, in the meantime, I find myself in this awful situation. Although I continue this uphill battle, I have not been idle. I have been able to secure employment at a local barbershop; however, my income at this point is not providing the funds I need to resituate my life. I appreciate any financial contribution you have to offer and if you are not able or comfortable donating funds, please stop by Fountain Barbershop at 216-15 Linden Blvd, Cambria Heights, Queens for a haircut or gift certificate - I would greatly appreciate that support also. I plea to any and all that can assist and relate to these strenuous circumstances as I continue this battle with DOC, hoping that my success will ultimately result in changing the way City and State employees are treated. It must stop! I want to sincerely thank any and all of you who have taken the time to hear my truth and offer any help you can. Respectfully Thomas (Powerful) Admore
