I am writing this letter on behalf of the Honnert Family to ask for help. On May 16, 2024, Amanda had two seizures while Shaun was working at the firehouse. Her care team located a brain tumor that was causing her seizures. Amanda was diagnosed with Grade 2 Glioblastoma. In February 2024, Amanda and Shaun traveled to The Cleveland Clinic and this was changed to Grade 4 Glioblastoma. GBM is an aggressive brain tumor. The tumor is inoperable involving the left temporal and thalamus, completely involving the left hippocampal region and is currently terminal. They are currently at the hospital receiving her second blood transfusion this week. Amanda and Shaun have been married for 20 years and have three beautiful children Ethan (22), Eleanor (18) and Ava (17). While most of the treatment and medicines are covered by medical insurance some are not and are very expensive, and they need our help to pay for them and any travel expenses they may endure. I am asking for your help in the form of a donation, no matter how small, to help ease the financial costs the family might face. During this difficult time, your kindness and help will give our friend and his family hope and comfort. Every little bit helps. If you are unable to donate, please share this message with your friends and family. We appreciate you taking the time to read this. I am sure we can make a difference in the Honnert Family with your help.
