On the morning of Wednesday, July 5th, Chris ended up in the Northfield E.R. where he underwent a 4.5 hour emergency surgery. This was a complex surgery, and as of July 10th, he is still recovering on the inpatient unit at Northfield Hospital. We are hopeful Chris will be home soon, but that's where another recovery journey will begin as he will have to learn a fairly new way of life while his body heals. There will be another smaller surgery hopefully in the next 3-5 months to reverse some of what this surgery has done to his body. *Chris is a private person, so we are leaving medical details out to respect that!!* Chris will be off of work for 4 weeks if things go as planned. He is unable to lift for 6+ weeks, & the Hayes family will have to order many medical supplies for their home. This will hopefully be a temporary need, for the next 3-5 months as he awaits his next surgery. Chris and Raquel have 4 children, ages 19, 15, 5, and 2, and Chris is their family's main financial provider. We're starting this LFEBridge with hopes to lessen the financial burden these next weeks and months may bring as he heals and his family learns to navigate a lot of changes at home. Thankfully, Raquel works full time from home and will be able to be Chris's full time cheerleader & caregiver throughout his recovery. I know they will sincerely appreciate all positive thoughts, prayers, encouragement, & love you can give. If you are able to donate money to this unexpected journey they are now on, know this will be going towards their insurance deductible, out of pocket maximums, medical supplies, and helping to alleviate any financial burden that this may have on them. And if you can't, it's okay too, we'll keep you updated on important developments that happen in Chris's journey here too.
