The Counting House is a unique medieval jettied timber-framed merchant's warehouse built in 1609. The building is in need of restoration which includes: new roofing, structural strengthening, timber repairs, stone repairs, lime pointing, lath and daub repairs, lime rendering, repair of external doors and windows, etc I am self-funding the works and doing all I can to progress the restoration. You will find me there on days off work and at least one day every weekend! I have been overwhelmed by the support and encouragement from the Pontefract community and people walking past the building. Whenever I'm working on the building, it's fantastic that such a large number of people show an interest and appreciate our efforts to date and the task ahead! Many members of the public have expressed a desire to help in some way, whether that be volunteering or making a donation to help restore part of the building. With this in mind, I've been encouraged to set up this LFEBridge page to help finance the restoration of this historic building. Please note we don't have charitable status, but all donations will go directly into the much-needed works to preserve this building for years to come. Many thanks for your generosity and support.
