This LFEBridge page is to help save the life of a father of 5, devoted husband, loving son, friend to many and my younger brother, Dennis Morgan. Dennis is a 39 year old, generous and kind spirited man that was told a couple months ago that he needs a new liver or he has a slim chance of living to see 2024... Dennis battled with the disease of Alcoholism for the better part of two decades and in May of 2024 he was told by doctors that his liver had been compromised and if he didn't stop drinking immediately that his liver would fail. He has not touched a drop of alcohol since. Through willpower and determination, he was able to see the err of his ways and transform his life and himself. Without the burden of drinking, he was instead able to focus his attention on being a good father and husband. In March of 2024 he battled an infection that left him severely jaundiced, then the red flags began flying... In early April a combination of a cholesterol medication and an infection caused his liver to decompensate quickly and since then his health and condition have spiraled rapidly downhill landing him in and out of the hospital, at times bleeding immensely, battling massive infections and so bloated most days he’s too exhausted to walk. With his health in such critical condition the obvious course of action was to look into a transplant. Because of his past history with alcohol, the screening process was more rigorous, but with his sobriety well in place, that wasn't an issue and he passed test after test with flying colors. When my brother quit drinking it was his awakening. He didn't need rehab or AA or any outside encouragement, for him the thought of losing his life with his family was all the inspiration he needed and he flourished. Unfortunately, the only medical facility that does liver transplants in the state of Oregon disagrees and he was recently declined from the transplant list as they deemed him “a high likelihood to relapse” due to his lack of involvement with the AA program. Currently of the handful of places that COULD help save my brother's life, most won't even see him because of out-of-state insurance or other monetary reasons. This is where you come in World. We are a close and loving family and are willing to do whatever it takes to save Dennis's life, even online pan-handling. As of now, July 10th, we are desperately trying to relocate Dennis to the Utah/Nevada area where he has a small chance of receiving the proper care he needs to live. With no insurance and little to no income, the problem at hand is paying for the surgery which is at a minimum half-a-million dollars proposition. With time against us, The Morgan Family humbly and sincerely asks for any and all help as we fight to save Dennis Morgan's life so he can continue to be a light in our world, a rock for his family and a pleasure to all those lucky enough to be around him.
