Kelvin was born in Owensboro, Kentucky and moved to New Zealand with his family when he was four. He met Robina in Auckland while working for International Computers Ltd. They married in 1973 and were transferred to Wellington where their 3 daughters were born. In 1983, the Anastasis visited Wellington and they toured the ship and hosted some crew including the then Chief Engineer, Jack Hill, at their church. In 1989, the family attended a YWAM Crossroads DTS in Makapala, Hawaii and in October 1990 joined Mercy Ships in Texas. While with Mercy Ships, Kelvin served in the IS Department where he was involved in the design and development of software systems to meet the many needs of the organization. In 2024, Kelvin took his well-deserved retirement with the hopes of moving back to New Zealand to enjoy time with family. However, life has thrown Kelvin and Robina some curveballs that have prevented them from being able to make the move yet. Robina had two surgeries on her hip after falling after the first surgery and that resulted in 5 weeks in a rehab facility. A pre-sale inspection of their home has identified some foundation issues they need to get repaired before they can sell and international shipping charges have risen significantly since they first planned to move. We would love to help ease the financial burden of this move, any amount would help! Let's bless the Burton's as they have blessed so many around them!
