In October 2014 we found out that our father had to have yet another open heart surgery to have a Valve Replacement He had this surgery here in Buffalo at the VA hospital. They did this surgery, replacing a heart valve with an artifical one,and they also did some clean up work around his heart, because it was cery much needed,     After a few months of ups and downs in the hospital, dad was released and was sent home and in front of our eyes he was looking like a new man. He seemed to have more energy, he was happy. Fast forward to the end of July 2015 when our dad started to not feel himself he was having some issues so our mom took him to the VA to be checked out.      On Aug 5th 2015 he was admitted to the VA hospital much to our dismay it was found that the valve that they replaced in our das heart was in fact infected. We were told that because it was an artificial heart valve an infection was a possible side effect.        We were then informed that the valve they replaced needed to be replaced again. The doctor that did dads first valve replacement surgery said that he was refusing to do the 2nd surgery because of the severity of doing the surgery 2nd time in less than a year. It was decided by the hospital that the best place for our dad to have this surgery would be at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. They felt he would get the best care possible there.    Dad was transported to Cleveland Clinic on Aug 15th 2015. He arrived and after a short time he was being operated on and a valvereplacement was done but his time with a human heart valve. Our father hasnt always been the healthiest man but he sure is the strongest.     Because of the other health issues Cleveland Clinic said that dad needed a tracheotomy to help with some respiratory issues as well as a temporary pacemaker. After lots of good and bad days Cleveland Clinic said he was ready for rehab and the VA here in buffalo came and picked dad up and took him back to the VA on Sept 19th 2015.     He came back and it seemed he was ready to get rehab going but because he had the trach he needed to stay in ICU for a bit because it is where he would get the best care.      Aside from all the other health issues going on dad has become anxious and is suffering from panic attacks.       The doctors evaluated our dad and it seems that he needs to return to Cleveland Clinic for yet another surgery due to having fluid in his lungs and once again the clinic is best for this kind of surgery.      As of today 10/22/15 he is still at the Va. He was removed from ICU into a regular recovery floor so he can start rehab but he suffered from cardiac arrest on monday 10/19/2015 and had to be resuscitated numerous times after they were willing to give up on my dad our mom begged them not to stop well our dad did wake up and we found out that there was damage to his heart ventricles and he will need a permanent pacemaker.       Our father has been through so much that it almost doesnt seem fairbut he is fighting every step of the way.        The reason we are setting up this account is not for medical bills. It is for our mother. She has been by my dads side every single day. When our dad spent all that time in Cleveland Clinic ICU she slept in the waiting room for over a month. She would spend a couple weeks out there come home for a bit to pay bills and right back to Cleveland. She would go at least a week without showering only because the hospital dont accommodate families with anything besides staying in lobby. She has to be picked up and dropped off back and forth to Cleveland because there is no long term parking. Us children have been helping our p[arents the best that we can. OUr mom has been our dads caregiverfor many years and they simply live off our fathers disability income. It has become very hard for our mom to juggle both numerous trips to Cleveland and their home responsibilities We are reaching out to you asking for any donation you could spare(nothing is too small) to help our mom with all the costs she is facing to go back to Cleveland and this time it will be a longer stay. our parents are the true meaning of soulmates she is there every possible minute and deserve to care for our dad in Clevelanda little more comfortable than the last time but we do need your help.        THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ OUR STORY AND YOUR CONSIDERATION. God Bless
