Hi, my name is Amanda Ofosu-Agyei. Born in London to Ghanian parents, I travel to Ghana on a regular basis to visit family and to give back to less privilaged poeple in the rural communities of Ghana. I am the founder and Director of the newly formed Alpha Akosua Development Foundation. It is a Ghanian-UK based non-profit organsation founded by myself in February 2024. Our mission is to transform the lives of Ghanian people living in rural communities by improving access to education, sanitation & hygiene, healthcare & training, tackling period poverty and supporting employment. During my few visits to Ghana, I donated a large number of supplies to a rural clinic and school in the Ashanti region of Ghana. These included books, pens, pencils, vitamins and medical equipment. These were largely funded by myself with a great deal of support via LFEBridge and other much welcomed donations. In addition to setting up a programme for local people to make reusable sanitary pads for girls, providing job opportunites, I am currently trying to raise funds to replace the roof in the technology block of Kwaso Presbyterian School in time for their 75th Anniversary in July 2025 as well as connecting to the local water supply for the first plummed in toilets for the school. It is key the children have a safe place to study and access to flushing toilets particularly for girls when menstuating. Many girls spend days 3-5 days every month off school because they don't have access to toilets and sanitary products. In addition to this, we would like to provide 2 hospital grade beds for rural clinics, bed privacy screens for examinations, bed cabinets for clinic, medicine trollys, infant cots for maternity clinics. Our foundation would be grateful for any of the following donations but most of all contributions to the fund which will pay fo rthe new roofing of the school.
