Hi my name is Joan, I created this fundraiser for my dad in law who is currently fighting for his life against liver cancer. 8 years ago, he was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney cancer. His left kidney was removed and all the treatments were done to make sure that cancer cells will not spread. His doctor declared him to be cancer free after 5 years of annual monitoring. Almost a month ago, he needed to go to the ED because he was having fresh blood stools. So colonoscopy was done and according to the doctor it was because of hemorrhoids. At the back of my mind (Thank God! But still doubtful of the findings due to his history) Labs and further tests were done. And just last week, we received a call from the Philippines and finally heard the sad news confirming that his cancer came back, but this time, it was a poor prognosis. That moment I knew, I was at the lowest point of my life, having the fear that soon, we might lose the one person we love the most without getting the right treatments and procedure he needs in order to survive or atleast prolong his life. Knowing my dad in law, he is the kindest, most generous, caring person I know. He is well known and loved in their community because he was the "go to person" whenever their neighbors needed help. So I'm humbly knocking on your generous hearts to please help him with his battle because he really deserves to live a longer and more meaningful life so he could continue inspiring and helping more people.
