Can you imagine raising a special needs child alone? Imagine being the sole caregiver for a unique child whose whole world revolves around you. Imagine as a parent you will spend your entire life caring for your child and worrying about who will care for them when you are gone. Now compound that by finding out your young beautiful daughter has been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and will need immediate medical attention and treatments for the next six weeks. That's what Monique Harris now faces every day. Her daughter, Taniya, was diagnosed in July and was immediately transferred to Chapel Hill where she will undergo treatment for the next six weeks. During that time, Niya will reside in the hospital until the end of the intense treatment period. Her treatment is expected to last for at least three years. Nobody plans for news like this. Niya's mom has had to put her job on hold, and with the rotating help of her mom and sister, will care for Taniya in Chapel Hill while bills continue to come in. Many of you have asked, how can you help? This page is being set up to collect donations that will help Niya and her mom along this journey. Funds raised will be used to support Niya and her mom while she is in the hospital. For those of you that know Niya, she is a bright star that loves to laugh, dance and act silly. Let's continue to allow her and her mother to do that during this difficult time and ease the financial burdens that will be coming their way. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support. God Bless You and God Bless Taniya.
