Hello! My name is Alesha and my partners name is Tai. Tai is ftm transgender. He has been on testosterone for over a year through private doctors, and he has struggled so much with gender dysphoria. For those who don't know or understand, Tai feels like he wants to end his life because he hates his body. He often says to me, "if I could just get my top surgery I would be so happy" For Tai, he was assigned female at birth but is transitioning to a male. There's constant reminders on his body of what he doesn't want to be... The reason we are doing this fundraiser is so its a little more achievable for him to finally feel comfortable in who he is. Top surgery is where the AFAB chest is removed to be a flat masculine looking chest. Tai has often expressed wanting to chop off his chest just so he can feel happy.
