Hi All, As some of you already know Susie was admitted to the hospital on July 4th, They ran lots of tests and could not find what was wrong with her and why her results were showing Plateles at 13 and needed to be at 150, White blood cells at .4 and need to be at 80, and Hemoglobin at 7 need to be at 12. On July 10th they had a bone marrow procedure and that is when they told her she had Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL). She and her family were devastated. I mean you can only imagine. On July 11th they started her on Chemo treatments at Resurrection, however on July 29th they had to transfer her to Rush Hospital to continue her treatment there. She will not be permitted to leave the hospital till they get her platelets, white blood cells, and hemoglobin to decent numbers. Today is August 6th, meaning she has been in there for almost 30 days. Susie is a great woman and mother, but life has thrown her plenty of curve balls and she has risen from them all, so I pray she will rise again. She has always worked hard to provide for her family as a single mother. Her spirit shines high, she loves to make people laugh and is there when you need her. She is everyone's dancing partner, so let's keep her dancing. APL is a cancer that we can beat, it is a more acute type than the other types, but she needs to be focused on fighting and not worrying about other things. So, any help that you can support her with is greatly appreciated.
