My name is Matthew, a 29 year old veteran living in Houston. I live in my mother's house, and am unemployed due to medical issues. As of right now, the diagnosed health complications I have are: Ankylosis spondylitis-- an autoimmune disease that keeps my spine constantly inflamed. Multiple fractures in my thoracic vertebrae Lumbago with sciatica on both the right and left sides of my body. Degenerative disc disease from my Lumbar to my Tailbone. Collapsed discs in my Thoracic vertebrae. Severe, chronic depression that I am currently taking the maximum dose of antidepressants for. Social anxiety ADHD And a degenerative memory. On top of what has been diagnosed, I'm currently going through the process of getting testing for additional issues that are most likely: Osteoporosis Fibromyalgia Autism My mother is a Saint of a human and has been paying the bills for the whole house, our phone lines, and my groceries for months. She's working 12-14 hours between two jobs, and it absolutely kills me that I'm the reason why. My application for disability in Texas started medical review in May, and is estimated to be finished in February of 2024. I briefly had Food Stamps, but they took them away at the start of July. My attempts to get medicaid or TANF have been denied, the latter because none of our bills are in my name. Any money raised here will be used to pay for our groceries, take care of our dogs, cats, lizard, and bird, and pay off bills as much as possible so my mother can take a break.
