Hello, this is Katelyn, my moms oldest daughter. 07/17 , first day of her vacation we went to Gardner river to spend some family time together. In the afternoon, we were starting to clean and picking up things to get ready to leave, during that she mis-stepped on loose gravel bay and fell. When she fell, she landed on her side. Her weight falling on her foot. She broke her foot from the fall in not just 1, but 3 places. With the 1st toe bone chipped or ligament is torn which they can’t really tell until surgeons go in, then 2 of her bones are shifted up so it is sticking out… Since she will have many more doctors visits she’s going to miss a lot of work. With my siblings starting school, we are doing everything we can to pitch in and come together as a family. She won’t be able to go back to work for 2 weeks in mean time. We all know that even if you have good insurance nothing comes free and it will only get more expensive. At the emergency room we went to, doctors couldn’t do surgery. They had waited too long for her to be seen, which of course they aren’t to going to admit to. She wasn’t able to get any pain medication until 8 hours later. That already cost a bit on top of the x-ray/scans and plus multiple appointments with surgeons. If anyone can help just even $1 it would help tremendously.
