My name is Sharon, and I am 75 years old. I have been supporting my son of 49yrs of age who has bipolar disorder and is very difficult to deal with. Along with that struggle, I also support my mother, who turns 100yrs old Monday, July 10, 2024 (amazing!). While my son does manage to hold down a graveyard shift stocking shelves at a local grocery store, he doesn't make much income and both my mother and me are retried trying to live off Social Security. Normally I can manage my bills and struggles, but I have worn my body out and have been getting major surgeries the last 3 weeks and have been in recovery for a week now and no clue when I'll be discharged. All my saved money has been going to nursing help for my 100yr old mother and just trying to keep our heads above water You'd think after working so hard your entire life, raising kids, and caregiving to nearly all my family - Mother (Navy civilian during the war), Father (Marine Vet : south-pacific), Aunts (also Navy civilians), Stepdad (Airforce Vet), Neighbors and Friends). I've seen and heard of people who get so much support from the government, but a retired - hard-working American born- like me doesn't get very many breaks. I have to fight for every little bit of help I get. My main expense right now is hiring help for my son who had to take a unpaid leave of absence to help his grandma. Somebody has to be there for her. I had major surgery on June 8th and had a week's stay in the hospital. I had complications and had to go back for more surgery on June 30th. I am still in the hospital. Every time my son has to bring me to Wichita or bring something up to me we have to hire someone to stay with mom. Even just to run errands or go to the grocery store. I have been taking care of Mom for 10 years and promised her I would not put her in a nursing home. We struggle to keep up with the bills but can't afford all of these extra expenses. My son needs to go back to work before he loses his job and his benefits. I am at my wit's end and don't know what to do. Still have no idea how long I'm going to be in hospital. I’m asking, in my most humble way, to please help me with a donation. I know I might be a stranger to you, and that my situation is not a major tragedy like a mass shooting or natural event like a hurricane or earthquake, but your donation will go to a good cause and would really help me get past my medical issues so I can continue to care for my mother; most importantly. ****PLEASE SHARE THIS POST**** Thank you so much and God Bless!
