(日本語文は英文下に記載) Hello, I am a friend of an unprovoked assault victim, Yukiko Takahara, and appreciate you taking the time to read her story. Yukiko is originally from Nagasaki, Japan, and currently resides in San Francisco, CA. She is a great mother of three adorable felines and works at a local bar. We seek financial help for medical bills and living expenses after an attack that resulted in a serious injury. On June 16th, 2024, while walking home, Yukiko was pushed from behind and knocked down by an unknown assailant, who ran away. Unfortunately, there’s no evidence or any witnesses to identify the perpetrator. She was found unconscious on the sidewalk and taken to the emergency room at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. The assault and fall fractured the third and fourth cervical vertebrae in her neck. The next day, she was taken to Zuckerberg SF General Hospital and Trauma Center where a surgical procedure was performed. She regained consciousness and remained in the ICU for a week after the surgery. Despite her injury, she rushed to leave the hospital because she was afraid of outrageous medical bills as an uninsured patient. Moreover, she has three cats that need to be taken care of. She has been suffering from severe pain and weakness in the muscles of her arms, shoulders, and hands. She is unable to work until she regains muscle strength. Currently, she is still struggling to perform basic living tasks for herself, like lifting a glass of water to drink. Any money donated will be used for medical bills, and living expenses including cat supplies. Prevertebral post-surgical swelling with a surgical drain placed. 皆様こんにちは。 通り魔被害に遭い大怪我を負ってしまった高原由起子（以下：Yukiko）の友人として、医療費と生活費を賄うためにクラウドファウンディングプラットフォーム、Gofoundmeを立ち上げました。 アメリカ・カリフォルニア州サンフランシスコ在住のYukikoは、2024年6月16日、職場からの帰宅途中に何者かに後ろから突き飛ばされた後、意識がないまま道端で倒れているところを通行人により発見され、聖フランシス・メモリアル病院の救急へ運ばれました。翌日、意識を取り戻した後ザッカーバーグSFジェネラル病院へ搬送され、精密検査を受けた結果、首の頚椎(第三・四番)を骨折しており、折れた骨を支えるために金属を挿入する手術が施されました（頚椎前方固定術）。手術は無事に成功し集中治療室に一週間滞在をしましたが、アメリカの医療費の高さを考えるとこれ以上滞在はできないと考え、医療関係者が止める中半ば強制的に自主退院をしました。また、Yukikoは2024年に保護した３匹の猫を飼っており、長期間に渡り彼らのお世話ができる人が身近にいないため、急いで帰宅する必要があったのです。 怪我の後遺症として激痛の他、肩から指までの筋肉が弱まった影響で日常生活にも支障を来しており、事件から約２ヶ月が経った現在も仕事に復帰できずにいます。リハビリに通いながら筋肉の復活を試みていますが、元通りになるまでには何ヶ月も要する見通しです。通り魔の被害者であろうと無収入であろうと、高額な医療費の請求が取り消されるわけでも、生活費がかからなくなるわけでもありません。日々減っていく預金残高は、身体的な苦痛以上の心労につながっています。しかし、このような状況下でも「猫たちが露頭に迷うことだけは絶対に避けたい」と、愛猫たちを優先しようとするYukiko。彼女が職場に復帰できるまでの間、どうかお力添えいただけますようお願いいたします。 寄付を頂いたお金はすべて、救急処置・検査・手術・集中治療室の入院・今後のリハビリを含む医療費と生活費（猫たちの食費等含む）に充当します。もしお金の寄付が厳しい方は、このストーリーをお友達やご家族にシェアしていただけたら幸いです。 お忙しいなかご拝読いただき誠にありがとうございました。
