What We're Doing Helpings of Hope Farms is a start-up urban farm run by three Congolese farmers located in Indianapolis, IN. These men are part of the resettled Congolese community whose dream is to one day have their own urban farm. Now their dreams are being realized, and we need your help! Who We Are Our Goals Their mission and long-term goals are to: 1) Provide high-quality African and American produce grown using holistic/organic farming practices. 2) Present a springboard of opportunity for the Congolese Community by providing more economic opportunities. 3) Improving mental and physical health outcomes for our community. 4) Contributing to the diversity and prosperity of our community. This year's start-up goal is to grow four African and two American crops and sell locally using a small amount of grant money and crowdfunding. Next year and the following year goals are to expand the number of crops grown and sell to more local and regional grocery stores with the end goal of selling African produce to a big box store making this nutritious and delicious African produce accessible to all people. This new urban farm has the backing of Helpings of Hope, Inc. (www.helpingsofhopeindy.org), a long-standing community 501(c) 3 non-profit that has been in existence since 2015.
