السلام عليكم (This fundraiser is not in any way affiliated with Dar ibn Abbas or Dar Aisha, Sydney even if it has been previously circulated in messages) I'm raising funds to sponsor and financially support the poor local cleaners, students and teachers in Tarim long term. The pay recieved by some of the cleaners that work full time is around $20 USD a month. This amount is not enough to support growing families. Living and studying in Tarim I have seen students rubbing out old notes in their excersice books and reuse their books as they couldn't afford to buy new ones. As well as borrowing old textbooks because they couldn't afford to buy their own books like the foreign students. There is a revert sister studying in one of the boarding schools in Tarim. She cannot afford to pay the school fees as her family disowned her after she became Muslim. The fees is only $7 a month. The people of Tarim are ones that don't like to ask for financial support even when in dire need of it especially the blessed scholars.
