On July 9th, Connor and Joy's world was flipped upside down when Joy was rushed into an emergency c-section after her uterus ruptured during baby Margot's delivery. During this time Margot was without oxygen for 22 minutes, which caused her to be admitted into the NICU where she began receiving cooling therapy to lower her body temperature to treat her hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). Joy and Connor were unable to hold their baby girl for many days, as they waited for her body to rest and heal. Connor and Joy placed their trust in the Lord and prayed for their sweet baby while there was nothing else they could do, but carried a supernatural joy through it all. Their Valley Creek family showed up for them with drinks, food, gifts, and most importantly prayer. God is so good and answered the Ganong's prayers daily; from getting to hold their sweet Margot Hope, to feeding her, to encouraging feedback from their health care providers! Then the most miraculous news of all came when they learned that Margot's MRI was completely normal. Studies show that babies who are deprived of oxygen during birth for more than 10 minutes often experience brain damage to some extent. Margot was without oxygen for TWENTY-TWO minutes and her scan was normal!!! Praise GOD!!! Margot Hope Ganong's life is already dripping with God's goodness. The very breath in her lungs today is a testimony to how good and powerful our God is. Joy and Connor are so grateful for the community of believers who held up their arms during this difficult experience. They are also so grateful for the prayers both then and now for their family and their hearts and minds as they process through all the ups and downs from the past three weeks. As with any unexpected medical event come unexpected medical expenses. We know that God is the ultimate provider and we can trust Him in that. However, this is simply an invitation for you to pray about financially supporting the Ganongs through any kind of gift. More than anything the Ganong's desire and appreciate your continued prayers. Prayers for their family as a whole, for sweet Nora as a new older sister and sweet Margot's continued health journey!
