I am begging all of you to help me send my sister from a different mister from Columbia, South Carolina to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Time is ticking + the cancer is spreading + every second counts for my beautiful sister to be able to spend more time with her two amazing children! After 12 years of being cancer-free, Tami was just diagnosed with METASTATIC BREAST CANCER STAGE IV in the entirety of the manubrium + positive mammary lymph node + additional mass next to the manubrium. We need to get her to Houston immediately to test for genetic mutations for target treatment. MD Anderson will then give Tami a treatment plan specific to the cells and delay spread. TAMI'S INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER THE COST OF TREATMENT TO SAVE HER LIFE. We need help covering the cost of travel, the treatments (ongoing), and not being able to work to cover her normal living expenses. Since January 2012 I've been healthy and clear Recently I discovered a large mass on my breast bone and in June was sent for a CT scan. Last week my PET scan has confirmed recurrence for metastatic bone cancer of the entirety of my sternum and positive for cancer of the mammary lymph node. I went aggressive the first time. Did all the right things. This is a tough one to accept. My family, children and close friends...Thank You for allowing me to express my anger and sometimes isolation and silence while I process my next steps. Extra prayers for my baby girl who leaves for her senior year of college in a few short weeks. My son is back in Columbia working on getting his engineering degree which is such a blessing.
