Peruse our building plans, videos, pictures, tips, resources and experiences on our blog: www.sarahandelizastinyvibes.tumblr.com What in the heck are we are doing? We are 2 ladies in love, building a sustainable tiny home. Why in the heck are we doing it? We want to feel safe in our OWN home. We want the freedom to choose WHO and WHAT we depend upon for support. We want to be able to pursue our career goals more freely, serving our communities. We seek an alternative living situation that better fits our financial needs and longterm goals.About Eliza and Sarah Eliza is passionate about social and environmental justice,  dancing, tea, learning about ancient history, painting and playing soccer.Eliza  worked as a psychotherapist for 5 years in a variety of settings. Right now, she is branching out of the traditional "talk therapy" system, exploring and learning holistic and plant-based modalities of healing. One day soon, she hopes to launch her community-oriented healing arts practice that will provide affordable talk therapy, as well as adjunctive therapies and herbalism in the Boulder Valley. Sarah enjoys white water rafting, rock climbing, working with people, oreos, and is a pretty amazing Goal Keeper.Sarah is a Master's Student pursuing her degree in Outdoor Experiential Education. Sarah has worked as an outdoor and wilderness professional for many years and is planning on beginning her own business in the coming years, offering guided and therapeutically-facilitated trips for not only kiddos, but adults of all ages and ability. A main theme for Sarah interwoven in her various roles has been a focus on empowerment and social justice and promoting the latter ideal specifically in youth. A big question Sarah asks of the outdoor and adventure industries is, "How do we make this accessible for all humans who wish to connect with the natural world?" Sarah takes her role in addressing the systemic and cultural roadblocks that prevent folks from connecting with nature seriously.Sarah also has experience in planning, constructing and building structurally and on smaller scales. She ran her own handy-woman and repair business in Fort Collins, CO and in Northampton, MA. Sarah is the "brains" behind the operation and has been steadily planning, researching and consulting our Tiny House building plans and materials used for a few years.A Tiny What? The Tiny House movement was created, generally, in response to rising housing costs (in Boulder, for example, the average cost of rent for a 1 bedroom apartment is around $1500/monthly without utilities, while the average cost of a home is about $700,000).The general cost of living and the growing amount of debt people are accumulating, as well as the increasing need for low environmental impact housing are reasons many people choose to live Tiny. Tiny homes range in size from 90 to 450 square feet. Cost ranges between $6,000 through $90,000. They can have electric and water hook-ups or can be completely self-contained with solar panels and a composting toilet.Vision in Practice: How does this benefit our Community? We believe that wisdom and knowledge should be shared. For free! You want our plans? You got ‘em. You want to hear about our roadblocks and how we hurdled over them? We want to tell you! By the end of our building journey, our hope is that our community has expanded and that we will be able topresent you with a plentiful and resourceful medium for building your own Tiny House. Tiny House not for you? That’s ok! Our vision is to spark shifts, change and dialogue around our values systems, personal beliefs and roadblocks to living an authentic and meaningful life. We will be offering our consultation, specific building and planning services at a low cost after our home is complete.  How you can help:Spread the word!
