Dear friends and loved ones, “Not all storms come to disrupt your life, some come to clear your path.” Our family has recently been shaken by a huge storm, but we know that with his unmistakable strength, resilience and willingness to kick ass, Perry will crush the rocky weather and see the blue skies ahead! As some of you may already know, in mid-June Perry was diagnosed with Stage 3 Rectal and Colon Cancer. After a hefty lineup of scans and tests, an intense plan of chemo and radiation has been mapped out over the next 4-6 months, if not longer. To round out the treatment plan, there will be a procedure to ensure all the cancer is gone. Although the emotional and loving support is fierce, and we are all in his corner, we are teaming up to gather additional support for Perry, Cristina, Bella, Hayley and Steven. In true Young form, he will proceed to use our genetic gift of being stubborn as hell to kick cancer’s ass to the curb! Any donation will help Perry and his family by going towards paying his ensuing tremendous medical bills and treatments. With an exciting year ahead for the kiddos, we are hoping to keep up their momentum while Per gets all the treatment he needs to be back in action for his children. Bella is embarking on her freshman year at San Jose State University, Hayley is jumping into her junior year at St. Francis High School, and Steven's kicking off his sophomore year at Willow Glen High School. This next year with the kids will be so rich with memories, with Perry and Cristina continuing to be in the forefront as much as possible. Whether it’s dedicating his time to shuffling the girls to softball practices and games, playing flag football with Steven (or cheering him on as he quarterbacks in the league), or sharing an epic day on the golf course - he is always devoting his time & energy to his children. The Young family is beyond gracious for any amount donated. We know it’s a long road ahead but we will get our Per healthy and cancer-free so he can get back to his family, attending those 49ers or Giant's games, visiting with his friends, and most importantly, lighting up the room with his great laugh and the mischievous sparkle in his bright blue eyes! Thank you all for your support, love and encouragement. Truly so grateful. We are hoping that the starting goal of $50,000 will cover all of Perry’s medical expenses, but time will tell if we need to update as things progress. Please feel free to send Carolyn (Perry's youngest sister) a message through the site if you have any questions or if you want me to pass any private messages on to Perry. We will post updates and important milestones here as we have them.
