Hello friends of Perry! I'm Donna Fone (a longtime friend of Perry's) and I'm creating this Go Fund Me to raise money to support Perry in his recovery from open heart triple bypass surgery that he had on July 28, 2024. Funds raised will cover a 1-2 week stay in an accessible extended-stay hotel where he can be monitored and supported by his daughter Marguerite (rather than navigating 3 flights of stairs at his apartment), transportation costs to and from medical visits, medications, food, and any needed recovery supplies. Perry is strong-willed and independent and I imagine he'll land on his feet soon, but it does take time for the body to heal from such an invasive surgery. He'll have a new leash on life and hopefully renewed energy. In the meantime, please contribute what you can to support him on his recovery journey. After discharge from the hospital, good friends Jose, Anna, and their son offered to care for Perry in their Oakland, CA home after Marguerite (Perry's daughter) was unable to make the trip north due to sudden illness. Many thanks to Jose, Anna, and family for the loving care you provided. Perry had his first follow-up visit with his PCP today and is on track in his recovery. He's out walking to keep his body strong and to expedite his recovery from the surgery. Thank you to all who have made financial contributions; the money will go towards medical co-payments, medications, transportation to medical care, food, and living expenses while he's unable to work.
