I am setting up this page as one of my oldest friends' son has been diagnosed with incurable cancer. Luka is 15 years old and a month ago had no symptoms. All their lives changed on the 6th of July when he was taken to the doctors who sent them to Stoke Mandeville Hospital. After lots of tests and a CT scan, they were told that there were three masses, further biopsies gave them the devastating news that it is incurable. Luka has ACTH-secreting, high-grade, neuroendocrine carcinoma. How rare it is - 1 in 2.8 million The average age for this cancer is 60 years It has taken a long time to get Luka stabilised so that he can have chemo, but last Monday he started his first round of chemotherapy at John Radcliffe Hospital I want to raise money to support Nick and Loryn. I want Luka to be able to have some lovely experiences whilst going through treatment. The family would like to decorate Luka's room for when he comes out of hospital so I would like money to help make it happen. The family are also looking for any help from any tradesman who might be able to help get his room and bathroom ready for him. This has had a traumatic impact on the whole family, Luka's older siblings Travis and Charlie are thankfully home from University at the moment and the whole family are supporting each other. I have known Loryn and Nick for almost twenty years. When I met Loryn for the first time she was pregnant with Charlie and I was pregnant with my son Will and we have been firm friends ever since. This is not the first time that the family has had to fight cancer as Nick was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer fourteen years ago but thankfully is in remission now. Luka is the strongest person I know, with such a wonderful kind and giving personality. He is not giving up and will fight this cancer all the way.
