Hi everyone! I’m not sure you all know my nephew Kyle but he has been through hell and back! He has sickle cell but was admitted to the ICU on Monday June 26 . He was not feeling well the week prior. His mother found him the morning of 6/6 very confused and disoriented in the tub after his work contacted her that he did not show up that morning. . He was in the tub for at least a day or more and the water flooded his new condo and the downstairs unit. A CT scan confirmed he had multiple micro brain bleeds and diagnosed with acute viral encephalitis and vasculitis. Very uncommon to have both let alone one. He was intubated for three days and has since been down graded to A different unit at the hospital. He developed pneumonia and came down with sickle cell pain but both are being managed. He has been in the hospital for 2.5 weeks and has a long road ahead of him for recovery. He is not able to work at this time and he just bought himself a condo 11/2024 and lives on his own. While his condo is renovated he will be staying with family until he can get back on his feet. I am doing a LFEBridge to help out with expenses. Any amount of money will help. I really appreciate any one that can give. Kyle has gone through so much in his short amount of years. He will be celebrating his 25th birthday on 7/15 but has gone through a life time of struggling with sickle cell and his health that most people will ever know. My heart is broken but with prayers and these wonderful doctors he will get through this!
