Hello, I want to begin by expressing my deepest gratitude for taking the time to read our story. Today, I come to you with a heavy heart and a plea for your support as my family faces one of the most challenging situations we have ever encountered. A few weeks ago, my dad, a remarkable friend, father, and grandpa, was involved in a devastating accident. While patiently waiting to turn, he was struck by a vehicle traveling at an alarming speed of 65 miles per hour, severely injuring him while he was riding his side by side. The impact resulted in a traumatic brain injury that will undoubtedly impact his life in the long term. The past few days have been a whirlwind of emotions, and accepting the seriousness and long-term effects of my dad's brain injury has been incredibly tough for all of us. As we come to terms with the challenges that lie ahead, we are faced with the reality of months of round-the-clock in person care in a facility and mounting expenses that we never anticipated. For those who know my dad intimately, you understand just how remarkable, caring, and selfless he truly is. He would take the shirt off his back for anyone in his community - and has spent time doing just that as a long time volunteer fire fighter and organizer of fun community events to bring everyone together. As a father and grandpa, he consistently goes above and beyond to ensure the happiness and well-being of those around him. Now, it is our turn to rally together and support him during this immensely difficult time. Although many of you may not know me as well as my dad, we both share a deep love for the mountains and the great outdoors. It is with this shared passion in mind that I have decided to take part in the upcoming Brain Injury Alliance hike on September 3rd. Covering a challenging 13-mile path up the majestic 14,144-foot Pikes Peak, this hike symbolizes the strength and resilience needed to overcome life's most daunting obstacles. To demonstrate my commitment and support, I have pledged to contribute $250 to the Brain Injury Alliance. However, I humbly request your assistance in helping my parents navigate this difficult journey. Your generous donations will not only enable my dad to receive the best possible care, but also provide my mom with the stability she desperately needs during this trying time. These funds will alleviate the burden of mounting medical expenses, cover travel costs for my mom to be by my dad's side, and offer vital support throughout his recovery. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant impact on my dad's journey to recovery. Your support will not only provide financial assistance, but also offer solace and strength to our family as we navigate this uncertain path. All donations received through this process that are not used will be donated back to the Brain Injury Alliance. From the depths of our hearts, we thank you for taking the time to read our story and consider supporting my dad's recovery. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us, and we are forever grateful for your unwavering support during this challenging chapter of our lives. With heartfelt appreciation and gratitude, Chantel Hinson
