Hello, my name is Alex and I've started this page to support my sister Holly and brother-in-law Jeremie as they begin their cancer battle journey. On Friday, June 23rd, my sister Holly received the phone call no one ever wants to receive. The results were positive. She has cancer. Papillary Thyroid Cancer. Just a few weeks earlier, Holly had found a lump, and with an ultrasound, confirmed a suspicious mass. Not much later, her and her family's world was turned upside down. She had thyroid cancer. Since the initial diagnosis, two additional masses were found. A total thyroidectomy (thyroid removal) is now needed to remove all the cancer. Everything has happened rather quickly for Holly and her family, and also very slowly somehow at the exact same time. We’re hoping this next week goes by quickly. While she is supposed to be enjoying the summer with her little ones, Holly is instead scheduled for surgery on Friday, July 14th at Appleton Medical Center. According to her doctors and her surgeons, they won’t know the extent of the radiation needed until after the pathology results post-surgery. We are remaining hopeful and positive, as Holly has found an incredible team ready to take care of her, and anyone who knows Holly knows she’s one strong Mother. We are asking for monetary support to hold Holly and her family together while she and Jeremie wade through this process. They both expect to miss several weeks of work while Holly recovers from surgery and radiation, medical bills, additional child care expenses, and lots of unknown as we await results from pathology next week. We will use this page to keep all of Holly and Jeremie’s family and friends updated as we progress forward together with Holly and her family.
