Tracy Olson Fabila is 48 years old. She has lived in our community for over 25 years. She has raised three children in the Colville School District and supported all of their school/sports activities in any way she was needed. Tracy has worked as a cosmetologist for 25 years and as an accountant's assistant for 10. She loves her family and friends and shows us every day. Tracy is the one that always steps up to ask if she can bring a couple of dishes to fundraisers, benefits, birthdays, weddings, etc. She never shows up empty-handed. After seven separate trips to the ER/Doctor, on July 1st she was taken to the ER because her knee pain was so severe she was struggling to walk. They found a large pocket of fluid buildup. When they went in to drain it off, they realized it was very infected. She was transferred to Multicare Valley Hospital so they could go in and try to clean all of the infection out of her knee. Since then, they have found a bacterial infection in her blood and another smaller hot spot in her neck that they have been watching closely for the last week while pumping her full of antibiotics and trying to manage her pain. On Saturday the 8th, things progressed in her neck. The area became bigger and was leaking into her spinal fluid. They decided to transfer her to Deaconess because they felt she needed to have risky surgery on her C1-C3 spinal area. Surgery went well but there is still an infection in her body and a need for pain management. The goal is to get her on the road to recovery with limited pain before sending her home. They do not know how long she will be in the hospital but estimate a minimum six-week recovery when she does go home. There is also talk of sending her home with IV antibiotics and she'll have the necessary rehab to recover from multiple surgeries. Tracy being self-employed has had no source of income during the last three weeks, first suffering from neck pain and subsequently her hospital stay and eventual rehab. She never asks for help so we, as her long-time friends and her family are asking for her. Let's help lighten Tracy's stress level by helping with the financial burden she will be suffering due to the loss of her ability to work. She would be the first one to step up and help us out, so please donate in whatever way you can. For now, we are asking for help financially and when she's home I believe there will be an opportunity to help with meals. Thank you in advance for helping Tracy! She is one of the most loving, loyal, generous and hard-working individuals that I know.
