As you know Steve began the fight with cancer just a month ago and it went from not knowing to finding that he has stage 4 esophageal cancer that has spread throughout his body. This was incredibly unexpected and has changed Steve and his life. He is still recovering from brain surgery, where he works to regain strength and the use of his right arm and hand, as well as increased speech and cognitive processing. He is tube fed and at this point finds it too painful and difficult to swallow any liquids. This means that the tube feeding is his only source of nutrition. This will only be the beginning, as we move into the world of cancer treatment, not curing the cancer. My parents are his main caregivers, while Karl, Brady, myself and extended family support them as well, as often as we can. Steve is also receiving Home Health Care services to continue the healing and helping him regain skills. Steve's care is extensive. We have been blessed with a variety of community resources that have offered free or low cost items. But with that said the costs will continue to grow Many of you have asked how you can help. There are opportunities for bringing meals and running errands, for local friends and family if you are interested. But if you are out of town or are looking for a different way to support them, please consider making a donation here. Thank you! And thank you for the continued prayers and love that are sent daily!!
