UPDATE: Sarah received her new liver on 12/3/23. We are so happy that the surgery she so desperately needed has finally happened. However, she still has a long road to recovery ahead of her. We truly appreciate anything you are able to give to help offset the cost of her medical bills. Hi, my name is Michelle and I'm Sarah Gianotti's sister. About a year ago, Sarah began a health journey that has severely affected and altered the course of her life. What appeared to be a prolonged recovery from Covid-19 turned into a glaring discovery as to the state of her liver. Despite medical intervention, countless medications, and multiple hospital stays, her condition has unfortunately only continued to decline. Once busy and active with her career, family, and friends, Sarah is now in end-stage liver failure at the age of 43. She is unable to work, and her physical limitations have become so severe that she now requires a walker to move throughout her home. She is now working with a transplant coordinator and undergoing tests to receive a donor liver. Although she does not yet have an operation date scheduled, the hope of recovery is finally on the horizon after a very taxing year--mentally, physically, and financially. With rising living costs, skyrocketing medical bills, and the family being down to one income, Sarah and her family need assistance to make ends meet. Even once the liver transplant has been completed, Sarah will have a long journey ahead of her. We are hopeful that she will make a smooth recovery, but the process will not be easy or quick. Any help you can provide to Sarah and her family during this very difficult time is greatly appreciated!
