HI, I am Lisa's friend, Lisa C. and I have watched Lisa navigate incredibly stressful and scary medical issues surrounding her son Garrett's Cerebral Palsy. Right now Garrett is in ICU, has just come off of a ventilator, and was pretty much fighting for his life after having a very adverse reaction to the baclofen pump which was installed in Garrett 2 months ago to help with muscle spasms. ***Garrett is still struggling and in life threatening condition as of 8.5.23*** Instead of making his life better, it has literally threatened his life. Lisa is navigating a life threatening medical crisis with Garrett and he was Flight for Life transported on Sunday from Wenatchee to Seattle Children's Hospital, where they are still trying to figure out his seizures, cardiac issues, intense pain, and suffering, along with neurological damage and partial paralysis this medical crisis has left him with. Garrett finally had the intubution/vent removed today as they continue to figure out next steps. Lisa and her Mom are currently staying near Children's Hospital in Seattle and are faced with mounting costs of hotels, transportation costs and meal costs while in Seattle, and Lisa's caregiving salary for caregiving to Garrett, her primary income source, has been suspended while Garrett may be hospitalized up to two more weeks or longer—and a week of missed income has already passed. There are going to be mounting hotel and meal and unforseen costs and rent that needs to be met and this crisis has left them all facing many financial devastations on top of the emotional ones. If we, her friends and acquaintances, can each chip in just a little (or a lot!) to help them, it will take the pressures off of her so she can focus on getting Garrett well rather than worrying about unexpected expenses during zero earning that are rapidly mounting. Unfortunately, there is still a long road ahead and likely multiple surgeries ahead for Garrett, who is suffering greatly. Lisa is generous and does so much for others, now is her time of need and us rallying around her would be so appreciated. What they have been going through has truly been traumatic, disruptive, harrowing, and deeply stressful. Let's help Lisa and her family get back on their feet so she can carry Garrett (and herself) through this scary medical crisis. They need our love and support more than ever and we together can truly make a difference. I would love to help Lisa and Garrett meet a few months of rent and hotel and meal costs while they are in Seattle so that they don't have to worry about getting far behind on rent and bills during this time when their entire lives are thrown off kilter and into survival mode. Garrett's journey back will likely be a long one. Will you join me in rallying around this deserving family?
