Jessica has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer- invasive ducal carcinoma Stage 3. She had just turned 32 years old when she received this devastating news. Jessica has had 17 chemo treatments, 16 radiations and 2 surgeries to date. She has at least 1 more surgery in her future. Jessica has just completed 11 of the 14 chemotherapy's in her second round. Jessica has a 1.5 year old son, Oakland. Oakland is her pride and joy! He is the reason she continues to fight every single day! In February 2024 Jessica's maternity benefits ended. She has since been denied all disability funds and any financial aid. The financial strain has been overwhelming and extremely difficult for her. Jessica shared these words in an article.... "Physically, I can’t keep up with my toddler like I would like to. I went from an active lifestyle to choosing when I can do an activity. Financially it has been the hardest. Making sure you have gas to go to your appointments and food for your family. Money for meds so you can make sure the side effects are easier on you. My relationships with others are extremely strained, lots has changed. I have lost a few people and have gained some really great people as well. Work wise- I will not be able to return to my normal job which is very hard to accept. My outlook on life has changed because I look at every moment like it may be my last." Jessica made Forestburg her home in 2018 and now more than ever she could use some support from our great community. Jessica thanks and appreciates everyone that has helped and continues to help her.
