Beloved father, brother, and dear friend to many, many people, Dave Micklewright is a fun-loving, witty, caring and sentimental guy who is somewhat of a local legend! A lifelong resident of the Quad Cities, he has been a member of the food and beverage industry for 40+ years, serving people all over the QC and beyond. As a business owner for years (Micklewright’s Catering Service), chef, bar manager, active community member and support of many a cause, all round workaholic, music lover, and die-hard Cubs and Hawkeye fan, Dave is known and loved by many. This good and generous human could now use some help. As some of you know, Dave has fallen ill this past year. After numerous appointments, tests and eventually hospital stays, he was sent to University of Iowa Hospitals. With broken hearts, we share the news that he has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. This type of cancer is aggressive and resistant to treatment. His is advanced and presenting symptoms. Therefore, he has made the difficult decision to treat the symptoms as they come, with no surgery or chemo, choosing quality of life. He is now focusing on a completely different life plan than expected for himself and his daughter, Shannon. As you can imagine, this shocking news will call for immediate change, arrangements and funds. With this in mind, if you would like to help in any way, please consider contributing to this LFEBridge account so he and his daughter may carry on these next few months making memories, and lessening the burden of the financial stress brought on by the many bills, day-to-day expenses, trips to and from Iowa City appointments, medicines, and end of life arrangements. Thank you for your consideration. We love him so much. Please share this post, and most importantly, please keep him in your prayers. With love and gratitude, Kevin and Deb (Micklewright) Coonts, Dean and Denise Micklewright Dale Micklewright and Shannon Micklewright (FYI...please know there is one small transaction fee per donation, 2.9% + $0.30, which includes debit and credit charges, not the rumored 10%)
