Dear Friends, It is with a heavy, but optimistic heart that I am reaching out to you. My name is Ranjit, and I am starting this fundraiser for my big sister, Baljeet Soor. At the age of 42, she was recently diagnosed with Stage 2/3 cervical and lymphoma cancer. Unfortunately, we are currently waiting on the diagnosis of a recent PET scan imaging showing numerous masses in her breast. We will pray as we wait for the results that she does not have to add breast cancer to that list. But no matter the results we are going to make sure we do everything in our power to help her through. A little bit about my sister, Baljeet... Growing up, Baljeet was a great big sister. She looked out and cared for me and our younger sister. I hope that by saying we are sisters and best friends I can sum up just how great a sister she is. And the same love Baljeet showed for me and our little sister growing up, she showed a million times more as a mom to her two daughters. After becoming widowed with a 5-year-old and 3-year-old daughter Baljeet worked hard to make sure my nieces had a wonderful, happy, safe and enriching childhood. My nieces are great kids and a beautiful reflection of the loving and caring person Baljeet is. It wasn’t an easy journey for a single mother, but she had the strength to keep moving forward, and she eventually came out of a very difficult situation. And for that me and my family are very proud of her. Baljeet constantly worked to improve herself so she could provide a better life for her daughters. She went back to school while working full-time, all while making sure her kids came first. And after years of hard work, Baljeet became a licensed Osteopath and began a new and fulfilling career of helping others improve their health and lives, just like she always wanted to. In April, Baljeet was rushed to the hospital with unbearable pelvic pain and severe bleeding. After numerous visits to the emergency room, tests and visits to specialists, she was diagnosed with Stage 2/3 Cervical cancer, with lymphoma occurring in the lower limbs. Because the cancer has progressed to Stage 2/3, her doctors say that surgery is not an option. Baljeet’s treatments have taken such a tremendous toll on her both mentally and physically she is left only with the energy to rest and recover. Because of the devastating stress and crippling effect that chemotherapy and radiation have left on Baljeet’s body, with dual treatments lasting up to 8 hours a day, she has been unable to work. Being self-employed, without insurance or other means of financial assistance, has left her in a very difficult situation. Paying for additional therapies, medication, food, rent, insurance, and other monthly expenses that keep accumulating, has become impossible. And for this reason, I am asking for your help. Please know that Baljeet is insisting on donating a portion of all donations to the Wellspring Chinguacousy Non-Profit Organization for cancer patients. This organization has been a Godsend to her and many other cancer patients who have no means of support throughout their cancer battle. Your donations mean more than just money, they let Baljeet know that there are people who love, care and support her no matter what and that they are in her corner for this fight. I want to thank you so much for being a part of Baljeet’s life and her journey to better health. We are here for you, and we love you Baljeet! -Ranjit
