On July first, while visiting friends at a campsite, AJ was run over by a neighboring camper’s pickup truck after dropping his boat off. AJ sustained injuries to his back, waist and legs. Luckily no bones were broken, but he has significant muscle damage, bruises and injuries. There were concerns about his kidneys but after 3 days in the hospital his CK levels dropped and he was able to come home. He is able to get around short spans but per the physical therapist, he needs to temporarily be in a wheelchair until he can build up his strength. He will need physical therapy 3x a week to get back to normal. The doctors have every reason to believe AJ will make a full recovery and be back to his fun-loving self. My hope with this fundraiser is to help ease this process as much as we can for Whitney and Mike as they coordinate all the therapy and care AJ will need in the coming months. In order to care for AJ they will need to hire an experienced provider who can ensure he is safely getting around and his injuries are being attended to when they need to return to work. Donations will help ease that burden, and be greatly appreciated by the family.
