My name is Patricia and I'm doing this for my daughter Destiny who is only 15 years old. She was in a car wreck on 6/6/2024. She was on her way home with a friend when it happened. She was care flighted from the scene in Comanche TX to Ft Worth TX. Majority of her top teeth were ripped out of her mouth, her bottom teeth are in tack but they are all pushed back and leaning in her mouth, she had a stitch put on her bottom lip, she had more stitches put on the inside of her bottom lip below her two bottom teeth due to it being cut. She did have braces so she didn't lose the teeth in the accident. They were just dangling in her mouth. She has a cut on her eye and a burn on her forhead and her bottom jaw is fractured. She has one surgery for a cut on her face that was about 5 inches long and it required about 15 stitches. She had other minor cuts on hands and feet. She had a 2nd surgery to put the top teeth back into the gums. However it took them 4 and a half hours before they did that so it's possible she will lose her top teeth. She can't eat for 5 weeks. Only applesauce consistency foods or foods she can just swallow without chewing. She has upgraded to a toddler toothbrush but has to be extremely careful. Due to the gums not covering the teeth properly some bones have shifted in the gums causing her nose to shift. Once she is able to get surgery on the bottom and top teeth her nose may straighten back up. If it don't she will need a rhinoplasty. The 16 year old who caused the accident was not on mom and dad's insurance and they didn't have full coverage. Some of Destinys procedures she will need are cosmetic and her insurance don't cover cosmetic procedures. I'm hoping they will due to it being a car accident. They may want the girl to pay that hit them but it's only $15,000 for 1 person. My daughters care flight alone was $20,000. We go back July 13, 2024 to see if her teeth can be saved then hopefully start her surgeries. Any help is greatly appreciated and this will help us be at ease knowing we can pay for her surgeries to come. Thanks and God Bless. Update.. she is going to lose tooth #10 and teeth #7,#8,#9 and #11 all need a root canal. It's $390 each for tooth 7 and 8 and $648 each for tooth 9 and 11. That's $2076 I need to come up with and that's just the beginning of her surgeries. Please anything helps this family in need. Update as of Sept 6. Insurance is refusing to pay even after I sent a 4 1/2 page letter along with 45-50 pictures. We really are in need of help paying for this. Thank you for taking the time to read. Update 1/3/2024 she has lost tooth #10. She got her flipper but it's not a 100% true fit. She fears her other teeth are going to fall out as she feels them moving because they are not all the way into her gums due to the accident. It's just a waiting game for us. Update 5/22/24 Destiny supposed to get braces off next month and she can see a surgeon about bone and gum graphing since she is 16. She has an indent in her gums due to the teeth and if she don't get it done the flipper won't fit properly. She will need at least 5 to 6 teeth fixed since these are not all the way into the gums and hang out half way still.
