On September 28th, Dave Kendrick woke up with unbearable chest pain, only to discover he had an aoritc dissection and needed to be mecry flown to Strong, in Rochester. He spent 2+ weeks in the ICU and was told to face the reality that he may probably never go back to caring for his horses and his farm, Kendrick Show Stable, ever again. He is currently not allowed to be doing any activity of any kind, and it is unclear how long that restriction will last, potentially for months, years, possibly forever. While many have stepped up to the plate to help out, it is difficult to maintain the care of the horses at the highest standard when many of us are balancing school, jobs, etc. Dave's wife Laurie, has been incredible during this time in balancing the farm work and her 12hr/day job at the hospital, but could sure use some help. Without Dave being able to teach as well, there really is no money coming in to help care for them as well. A handful of the ~15 horses on the farm are currently enjoying their retirement and need to be cared for properly to continue doing so.With winter on the way, it would also be helpful if the farm could afford to hire someone, as we will need to use the tractors everyday for the manure spreader, move snow, as well as bring in jumps and winterize the farm. Many of us girls currently helping out aren't up to par with our tractor skills in the snow.Thank you to those who have helped out and thank you for your time!!
