Christel's Story In July 2024, our beloved friend Christel (age 51) suffered a devastating brain aneurysm. This life-threatening condition required not one, but two intricate surgeries to repair, due to an unexpected complication. During this critical period, Christel experienced "one or more" strokes, further adding to the complexity of her situation. As of today, 8/4/23, Christel is no longer in the ICU and back in her home. She is able to walk with some assistance but will need a considerable amount of rehabilitation when it comes to both her speech and motor skills. She cannot live independently for the foreseeable future and will need in-home assistance. Christel's future remains uncertain, but in the face of this immense challenge, her family, friends, and doctors remain hopeful. Her journey to recovery is arduous, and as a determined woman and fighter, she needs the prayers, well-wishes, and unwavering support of her community now more than ever. Christel is known for her loyalty, humor, and compassionate heart. A true pillar of support, she's the person who will rush to your aid no matter the hour, rolling up her sleeves and doing whatever it takes to help you through tough times.
