Our friend and teammate, Brenda, is an MVP of the Sydney Women's Baseball League (SWBL), Tennis Sydney and Amazon Tennis communities. She's a kind and generous friend who is selfless and always the first to lend a hand. She always turns up early and stays late to help. In July 2024, Brenda was diagnosed with a serious brain cancer, and is starting treatment in August. Because of the type and location of Brenda’s cancer, traditional surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy are not available. This means Brenda will have substantial out-of-pocket costs for treatment over the coming months. Brenda needs our support in the coming months as she accesses treatment for her cancer. As the sporting community at SWBL, we want to come together to support Brenda and let her know she’s not alone. Cancer has a huge emotional and physical impact, and it also has a substantial financial impact. This LFEBridge is one way for us all to show our support and help in a direct and meaningful way. Fighting cancer isn’t just about medical treatments. We also want to raise funds for Brenda to tick a few fun things off her bucket list, hopefully travel to see her family, and manage day-to-day costs in treatment and recovery. Some of the things Brenda has on her bucket list are: Bungee jumping Trip to the snow Scuba diving.
