Dear friends, family, and compassionate individuals, I write to you today with a heavy heart to share the story of my sister, Audriana Jimenez (Audri), a remarkable young woman who has experienced a life-altering event. Audri was involved in a horrific vehicle collision that left her seriously injured. I’m starting this LFEBridge campaign to rally support for Audri's medical expenses and to help cover the cost of maintaining her household during her extensive recovery period. The Accident: On Saturday Morning, July 1st, Audriana Jimenez's life took an unexpected and devastating turn. She was a passenger in a vehicle that was struck head-on by a driver who lost control while texting. The impact was so severe that Audri had to be transported via ambulance to a nearby helicopter, which airlifted her to the nearest trauma center hospital. Once there, she underwent emergency surgery to repair her shattered leg. This involved a titanium rod being implanted and then secured with numerous pins and screws underneath her skin. The Journey to Recovery: Audri's injuries are extensive, and she faces a long and challenging road to recovery. She’s unable to walk and will be in a wheelchair for the coming weeks. Her medical team predicts that it will take approximately 3 months, or more of intense rehabilitation, therapy, and medical attention to regain her strength and return to a semblance of normalcy. During this time, she will need ongoing support from medical professionals, various aids, and equipment to aid in her recovery. The cost of medical care is astronomical, and that doesn’t even begin to cover her lost wages. As a single mother of two, and the sole breadwinner for her two children the mounting expenses are overwhelming. Our family is doing all we can for her but Audri's medical expenses, including transport, surgeries, hospital stays, rehabilitation, medication, and medical equipment to aid in her recovery once at home are daunting. As she focuses on her recovery, Audri will be unable to work for the foreseeable future, putting a strain on her ability to cover her everyday expenses, including rent, utilities, groceries, and other essential bills. My goal is to alleviate this financial strain by raising funds to help cover my sister’s medical expenses and lost wages while focusing on healing her body and mind after this traumatic event.
