This request is both embarrassing and humbling but I’m doing it anyway… My name is Jenny and 9 months ago my 18 month old son and I escaped my abusive husband (soon to be ex husband) and with the help of law enforcement and a legal team were able to get a protective order. By the grace of God we managed to stay in the house. When my husband found out about the PO, all our bank accounts were emptied (he was making 30k a month) & he bought himself a new sports car and we were forced on food stamps. Friends raised $600 for help with food, gas and diapers. We have not received child support for 7 months. We have since lost EBT benefits and have been reapplying for the last six months and are continually denied (just discovered they had misinformation about our case so hoping to retrieve benefits this week) however we are struggling significantly. My roomate has been kind enough to share her EBT benefits with us and this week many have brought food and meals to our home… I am a full time student, full time single mother, in ministry, & work part time currently boarding dogs, cleaning houses, trying to sell clothes and in the process of plasma donation all the while applying and interviewing for new jobs. The day before my first interview i learned my car is getting repossessed. My ex would not transfer the car to me but shared with a mutual party his plan was to default on the car and house payment so we lose everything.. Because of the level of financial abuse (amongst all other forms of abuse) i endured over the last 5 years of being with him, there was major control over everything. My name was not on the car and is not on the loan (however it is on the house title). Our home my son and i are in is going into forclosure (emergency court hearing in 2 weeks thankfully) & my car is getting repossessed so I am driving it around waiting for the day it’s gone. i desperately need a car in order to have a job to provide for my son and I… I have lots of bills, Including daycare, 10k in lawyer bills, electric, water, gas, internet, medical bills for my son as he got terribly sick once we left, etc. i have sought my church for benevolence am hopeful they will help with bills. This post is specifically for a car. God has been so good to send people our way to help us as we’ve escaped this nightmare but not out of the woods yet. I ask that you ask the Lord if it’s right for you to donate and if so, we’re so grateful… you have no idea. If you don’t feel it’s right for you please just stop and say a prayer for me and my family, financial security, a job, and an apartment and just SAFTEY and the ability to quickly heal from all of this trauma.
