As only a second generation college bound high school senior, I have been selected to participate in a chance of a lifetime for a young woman. The opportunity to be a 2016 Debutante, the first in my family, to represent my community and other young women. This journey requires discipline, excellence, elegance, service and most of all support. My goals are to attend a university and obtain a degree in Computer Science and become a leader and an influential woman in Technology by doing my part to close the gender gap in the industry. My passion for community service spans over organizations such as the DownSyndrome Association, feeding the homeless with 7 Bridges, Hosea Feed the Hungry, Wounded Warrior, volunteering at a local Nursing Home and mission trips to help restore the communities effected by Hurricane Katrina. While in college, I plan to continue my community service and do what I enjoy, volunteering and helping others. With your help, I will be able to raise funds to assist my journey to college while participating as a debutante and also help to provide scholarships for other young women who are along the 2016 Debutante journey with me.
