Hey, We are Liv and Louisa and we have decided to run The London Victoria Half Marathon on the 2nd December 2024 in aid of the incredible charity Samaritans, not just to help raise money so they can continue to save and support lives daily but also as a personal gain to each of us. This Charity in particular means something to us and Suicide Prevention really does hit home, we both have suffered with our own mental health and struggles throughout our lives whether that be anxiety or managing depression so we can relate to many others who also struggle or have reached out to Samaritans for help. Louisa’s Story. In May 2019, my dad unfortunately passed away, it came as massive shock to me and my family and really kick started my personal battle. Not only did I have to deal with the grief but it led me to fall into a depression, I reached out and got the help that I needed and still deal with it to this day but I want to do this as a personal goal to fund and raise awareness for the charity that I wish people like my Dad could have gone to in their time of need. Livs Story. Nowadays mental health is growing into such a big thing and as someone who has suffered quite badly with anxiety I understand the battle. I’ve always had a big interest in mental health which led me into studying Psychology in Uni, I wanted to do something physical to contribute towards helping more people out there to get the help that they need. From knowing people who have had personal struggles or Family having them to hearing about strangers who also suffer daily due to their mental health. A cause and Charity like this deserves as much awareness as possible because it not only supports loved ones but constantly fights to save people’s lives. We both recognise this may be a challenge for us but we will continue to support each other through this and hope that other people can read our stories and want to join in too!! Whether you donate or even just share this, From the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU Liv&Louisa xxx
