Dear compassionate community, I am reaching out to you today on behalf of an incredible family that has travelled from Chile to our community, seeking a brighter future for their beautiful twins and their older daughter. Gaby, one of the twins, is a beautiful 12-year-old with an unwavering spirit, but she faces daily challenges due to her Cerebral Palsy and has other complex needs. Gaby's parents are true heroes who have devoted their lives to providing the best care and opportunities for their daughters. Despite the distance they have come and the hurdles they face, they are determined to give Gaby the love and support she deserves. Their journey has not been easy. Gaby's parents work opposite shifts to ensure that Gaby receives 24-hour care, with each of them taking turns to care for her tirelessly. They are like two ships passing in the night, their love and dedication guiding them through the darkness. As Gaby grows older, the physical demands of lifting her from bed to wheelchair and vice versa have become increasingly challenging. It is heartwarming to witness the bond between Gaby and her parents, but we can see the toll it takes on their bodies. That is why we are coming together as a community to support this extraordinary family. We believe that every child deserves to thrive and explore the world around them. A Hoyer lift would not only alleviate the wear and tear on Gaby's parent's bodies but also grant the family newfound freedom and independence as Gaby grows. The Hoyer Advance is compact, yet able to perform an outstanding range of transfers. Whether from the floor or onto a healthcare bed, the Hoyer copes with ease. The Hoyer's unique tapered leg design allows the lift to get even closer to the widest of obstacles. This is especially useful when encountering large chairs, bulky commodes and wheelchairs. The tapered design also ensures that the resident feels safe and secure during the transfer. Gaby is an inspiration to all who meet her. Despite her challenges, she attends school locally and has made many friends along the way. Her infectious personality and radiant smile light up the lives of those around her. We are calling on the kindness and generosity of our community to help us raise the funds needed to provide Gaby with a Hoyer lift, of $4,600.
