Hi! My name is Aubrie (Steel) Faber. I’m the youngest daughter of Charlie Steel! If you know my parents, you know how much they live to serve those around them. I’ve witnessed countless times how my parents have bent over backwards for myself, my siblings, our family, and even strangers they don’t know! My dad has been a police officer majority of his life. He gets up daily, ready to serve his wife, his family, and his community. He truly has a heart of gold. Ever since I was very young, my dad has always been a fighter. Despite many medical issues- including open heart surgery, neck surgery, spleen removal, and much more, he has never given up and still did everything he could to provide for his family! I’ve been very blessed to have my mother be a stay at home mom and my dad be the sole breadwinner. As of April this year, my parents have been empty-nesters. My dad still gets up to go to work daily to provide for them, and my mom watches my little nephew during the day while my sister works. For the last several months, my dad has been experiencing severe leg pain. Walking has been excruciatingly painful. Some days he could barely walk more than a few steps without it being intolerable. (I’m so blessed and so grateful that despite the pain he was in, he was still able to walk me down the aisle at my wedding a few months ago. That was truly an answered prayer, and something I will never forget.) My dad got scans and x-rays’s of his hip done many months ago to try and figure out what has been causing the severe pain. He had several doctors tell him that he’s fine, and he should just seek some physical therapy, and “all will be well”. Six months later, my dad was still having trouble walking (and yet, he still got up to go to work daily), but my mom finally convinced him to go see a different specialist. Upon that visit, this new doctor was immediately taken back as he looked at the X-rays (the same X-rays those other doctors saw and thought we’re fine) and saw that my dad’s hip was in complete shambles and he is in need of an immediate full hip replacement, ASAP. He has a few cardiac tests he needs to pass and some blood work to be done before he can undergo the hip replacement, but he is next on the list as soon as these other tests are complete. This came as an absolute shock to my parents. Hearing the fear and worry in my parents voices as they told me this news broke my heart. I wish more than anything that I could take this pain and burden from them. My father is an absolute fighter, and thinking of being bed-bound for weeks, followed by many months of physical therapy, all while being unable to work and provide for his wife, is absolutely crushing him. I wish I could meet all their needs and take away the worries of trying to figure out how to pay bills during this difficult time that is suddenly upon them. We rest fully assured that the Lord is our provider. We know that He meets our every need. We’ve witnessed it ourselves, time and time again; God ALWAYS comes through. We know money is tight for everyone, but if you feel compelled to give anything, 100% of this money raised will go towards blessing my parents: paying off countless medical bills that are coming their way, groceries, gas, their mortgage, etc. We are so loved by all of our family and friends, and more than anything, we ask for prayers over Charlie! Prayers for a calm mind, a painless and speedy recovery, and for his spirits to be lifted and full of joy and strength! We ask for prayers for my mom as well, as she is navigating this new season as well. She will be the one taking care of him, and if you know my mom, you know that she is incredibly gifted with a compassionate and loving heart. I thank you immensely for taking the time to read this post! You can also check out our new instagram page called “provider protector overcomer” where my husband and I will be creating and selling t-shirts and candles, and every dollar made from those items will be used to bless my parents as well. Brent and I have been wanting to start up a small business, and this unforeseen circumstance jump-started our passion, and we will begin with giving all the funds to two of the most incredible people who I think deserve it most! So if you’d rather purchase a t-shirt or candle instead of giving on this platform, we’d appreciate that thoughtfulness just as much.❤️ May God bless you all, and I can’t thank you enough for the prayers lifted up for Charlie and Grace Steel, in the heavenly name of Jesus .
