Update: This was his first week of therapy (clapping) It just feels good to see progress and feel support. Everyone says time is the biggest factor, which is understood. Every day isn't a home run, some days end on the same spot they started, but some days are awesome to see how incredible the human body and spirit is. This is hard and it's not even me. I see his strength, determination and perseverance in the face of so many barriers. It's inspiring. Never give up! Hello my name is Monique. I am writing this on behalf of my better half Kenton. He suffered a stroke on July 2, 2024 while working in 114 degree weather. He collapsed at the home of a customer who thankfully pulled him into their home and called 911. He was transported via ambulance to Deer Valley Hospital and airlifted to Honor Health for emergency brain surgery to remove a blood clot. This man has cared for me and provided for me and my mother during my own illness and struggles. He has taken on extra work since 2024 so I can focus on my mental health and heal, yet in doing so he now has jeopardized his own health. He is fighting so hard to recover. It's a miracle he is alive. The doctors have told me all the limitations he will "potentially" have with his left side and yet I watch as he works each day to defy the odds and try to reclaim his life. He was sent home on July 10th due to insurance pending. All rehab was involuntarily canceled for the same reason. Insurance was finally approved last week, yet we are still getting the run around. I see his frustration and won't give up until he gets all the support he needs to recover. I watch as he worries if his son is okay, if I am okay and if we will be okay. I know we will be because God is in control and this man is the most determined and driven man I know. However, the reality is during this journey through recovery we need some help. I work as much as I can, but I have to be available to help him and my mother. I never thought I would need a go fund me, yet here we are. Any support would be helpful and greatly appreciated. A special thank you to everyone who has prayed for us, checked on us and loved up on us. And an extra special thank you to James and his family for saving his life. Not everyone wants to get involved. Thank God he was around people who did. God Bless.
