I don't know why writing this feels like I'm giving a speech. And if you know me, you know how much I have a hard time with being in the public eye. Hello, my name is Amber Watson. I am the wife of the most amazing man I have ever had the honor to know. Chris will literally give anyone the shirt off of his own back. I have watched him work on his off days for weeks in a row, on other people's cars, because they were in such a financial bind they couldn't afford to pay someone to fix it. So he would. Sometimes for free or way too cheap. I would always get onto him, "You're never gonna get ahead if you keep giving out handouts." He would tell me, "I've been given more than I deserve, this is how I give back." He is the most pure and kind person I have ever met. I consider myself extremely blessed to even know him, even more blessed to be his best friend in a world full of terrible things. On Aug 30, 2024, I pushed Chris to go to the emergency room. The day before Chris had told me that something strange was wrong with one of "the boys." So the next morning when it wasn't better we went to the hospital. We joked and laughed most of the morning because Chris was so uncomfortable. It's what he does. Try to make jokes to make other people feel better. Maybe himself too. The dr finally came in and told us that Chris has to be at an appointment at 7:45 am with a urologist the next morning. Anxiety loomed over us all night. We go in the next morning and he tells us Chris has testicular cancer and has to have his right testicle removed immediately. After his surgery, he will then have to go through chemotherapy because it has spread to his lymph nodes. DEVASTATING NEWS. Chris is a blue collar worker. He earns his way and takes care of his own. He has 7 children total. Christopher(23), Joseph(19), Brandon(19), Jewel(15), Jaylen(9), Nova(4), Elijah(2). Four of them live and at home with us still. I'm lucky enough to have been able to be a sahm. But that also means that I don't have an income. Even if I did go back to work, and I will if it comes to that. I would never be able to supplement his income. Child care for our smallest 2 would cost more than I could bring home. So if he is unable to help care for them, it would be pointless and would cost more money than help us. This is where we need our village to help. We do not have insurance. This makes all of this 10x's more devastating because Healthcare is so expensive. We are going to need help with medical bills and probably our month to month bills when he has to take time off for surgery. He is a proud man and he told me this morning, "If I can walk, I can work." I do not want him to hinder his recovery trying to go back too soon because he is scared to let his family down. Please help me help him. Please find it in your heart donate anyway you can. Even if its just $5. Any little bit will help. If you can't donate then we will still greatly appreciate a share, big prayers, and good vibes. Thanks for reading my small novel. Sincerely, A terrified wife and mother
